Prayer For Our Country

"If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." ~2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV)

Dear
Heavenly Father~

You alone are the author of liberty and freedom. Any freedom we enjoy is first and foremost because of who You are, and what You did for us at Calvary.

Lord, Your Word promises us that if we humble ourselves and pray and seek You and repent from our wickedness, that You will hear, that You will forgive, that You will heal our land. That is the prayer of our heart. We need Your healing touch on our country.

We thank You for the privilege and blessing of living in a country that allows us to worship You without fear of punishment. Forgive us for taking this amazing gift so lightly, when so many across this world must risk their lives to worship You.

We pray, dear Father, for those who protect our freedom by their service to our country, and we ask that in return you will protect them and their families. May we never forget their loving sacrifice. May we never neglect expressing our gratitude to them.

Lord, more than ever, our country needs our prayers.

So we pray.
  • For Christians everywhere to draw closer to You, to realize the many ways we've comprised our covenant relationship with You, and to turn from those compromises to Your loving arms
  • For You to raise up bold prophets of God who proclaim Your truth fearlessly
  • That our leaders would seek You and follow Your divine wisdom and guidance
  • That the words "In God We Trust" will not just be written on our money, but on our hearts
Most of all, Father, we pray that we would never forget the principles upon which this country was founded. Help us to find our way back to You, and all that You are.

In the holy and precious name of Jesus,
Amen

"Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD." ~Psalm 33:12 (NIV)
